[ Despite the banter, the challenge, and contradictions, Wade is very fond of him. He trusts him, too, which isn't much of a twist. But he was right, Wade did come when called, only hours later, and then there's the not-so-small matter of the heartstopping way Cable rewarded that.
Wade doesn't want to leave. It would mean Cable wouldn't be drawing little circles onto his skin as his stupid tall body sits on his lap in the middle of his kitchen. ]
I should get going.
[ Wade doesn't move. But instead of saying something sappy that he will definitely never live down anytime soon, he says: ]
[Cable's reluctance for Wade to leave is very coolly concealed under an expectant veneer. He arches a brow at him, waiting for him to make some sort of move since he's the one on top here.
Cable feels anticipation hanging in the air for a moment, waiting for Wade to follow it up and feeling fully unable to predict what he might say. He definitely is not expecting that and he grimaces, moving to stand up whether Wade gets up or not.]
Would you shut the fuck up and get out of here already?
[There is absolutely no venom in his voice, just exasperation.]
[ Wade, expecting such an outcome, is altogether too ready to step up and out of his perch on Cable's lap, tucking the robe around him for modesty's sake, despite the fact that he had not so long ago performed an impromptu lap dance without it. ]
Oh my god, fine!
[ Feigning offense, Wade makes a show of sashaying out of Cable's kitchen to collect all the little pieces of his tactical suit he dropped on his way to the bedroom. After a few minutes, he's finally dressed, squirming one of his hands into his gloves near the foyer. ]
Okay, toodles - have a good rest of your day!
[ He says, opening Cable's front door to see himself out. ]
[Cable watches Wade flounce around the apartment and gather his things. He does not help, because if Wade wanted this to be easy he should have taken it off more carefully.
Cable leans against the counter as Wade heads to the door. There's a weird impulse in him to do something now. Kiss Wade? Hug him? It suddenly feels like too much. Like he's seeing his wife off. He stays glued to the counter, but he does offer Wade a small smile.]
