[He's not sure exactly what she needs, but if she's asking then he assumes it's something important and something she'd probably like to speak about face to face.]
[Maybe it's not so serious. And Cable may not be the best person to help on this particular issue, but... she'd not really known who else to go to. Asking for help isn't a forte.
Moments later since they live in the same building, there's a quick rapping at his door.]
[Cable is quick to open the door for her, gesturing for her to come in. His apartment is sparsely decorated, but it's looking lived in. There are books and plants scattered about.
As she enters, he clears his throat.]
Wade lives here now. [The voice suggests "don't ask".] But he's out. You alright?
[Nebula isn't much of a decorator herself, so it's an apartment after her own heart. When he mentions Wade, Nebula can't help the soft snort that escapes her. She doesn't really know what to think about that odd man most of the time, but she's certain living with him would try her very thin patience.]
I am... [Why she's come isn't anything that dramatic. Although it feels so to her but now she's shifting awkwardly.] It's nothing. I just, they are kicking me out of the assigned housing. I've been here a year.
I have to find my own place. [Her eyes dart around looking at anything but him.] I was hoping you could help me.
[Surely there were people who'd probably be more keen and knowledgeable on the subject, but he'd been the first person she'd thought of.]
[Cable seems a little taken aback, but he's relieved. Pleased, even. It's good that she's not in real danger (though he's cognisant that this is an unpleasant situation) and he can't help feeling warmed by the fact that she came to him for help.
He sniffs, shifting awkwardly on his feet as he re-aligns himself and gestures for her to follow him further in. He takes a seat at his small dining table, gesturing again for her to sit near him.
Despite being compromised of technology and from the future, he's a little old-school and he has a worn notebook and a pen that he pulls toward himself.]
You have income, right? A job? What about dependants-- submissives?
[She follows him, sitting in the indicated chair, shifting in it stiffly. Her eyes follow the movement of his pen to the paper.]
Yes. I own and manage the Red Emerald. It is a gym in the Up. I have plenty of funds.I have one Submissive. Jim Kirk. It is a rare month that I am not paying a fine for one of his citations. [There's a small smirk on her lips, tone almost proud. Clearly she doesn't mind paying those.]
[Cable scratches out notes as Nebula speaks, writing a plus sign next 'funds' and 'submissives'. At her comment, he pauses and his lips move like he might be about to nag her, but he doesn't. Best not to comment on other people's submissives when he lives in a house of Wade.]
Have you thought about how much space you'd like? Do you want to take on another contract? Do you want the freedom to, or would you prefer to keep a small house?
